So this is 2005; so far, I like it
Jan. 1st, 2005 08:47 pmIf the last 24 hours are to provide any clue, the word for 2005 may, in fact, be "Lucullan." In the past 24 hours, I've had strawberries with clotted cream, peppered salami, smoked salmon (no, not all at once), and champagne and chocolate at a New Year's party; a delicious Chinese meal this afternoon; and now, an equally delicious... second breakfast? King-size postprandial snack? *shrug* I've walked home from the Battery Park area to Williamsburg, and then across the Manhattan Bridge this afternoon; we have a new exercise machine in the kitchen of our apartment, upon which I've done repetitions to the point that I can seemingly trace out every single muscle of my shoulders; have a protracted swimming session lined up for tomorrow; hell, I've even cleaned my room. Both Kill Bill movies and Bringing Up Baby so far (again, not together); many fascinating conversations; sitting here right now with old friends whom I encountered on the spur of the moment, as I roll hot chocolate laced with chili powder across my tongue; a fascinating book on the Orion project written by Freeman Dyson's son sitting in my backpack, awaiting my further attention. So far, definitely, so good.
