Oh, and hi,
trifles
Nov. 19th, 2003 07:02 pmA strange thing: this is the third wriiten and posted entry for today; wrote two earlier versions which touched on the events I'm about to reference, then deleted them both. More, when I totted up the last month's worth of entries, I realized I'd deleted almost half of them subsequent to writing and/or posting- sometimes reworking the material for a later entry, usually abandoning it entirely. Not sure what this means, other than that my faith in my ability to communicate is obviously not at an all-time high.
So, yeah- what I meant to write about:
-Went to a friend's birthday party, which was, by and large, delightful- our group expanded until we'd filled every table at piano bar, with one other couple pressed into a corner. Much discussion of the personal symbology of movie posters, the reasons I'm going to the Grand Canyon for my birthday, and other cabbage-y, kingly things.
-Speaking of the Grand Canyon, booked my hotel today, and am looking into finding a rental car.
-This is what attempting to align my sleep cycle with that of my family does: Three nights ago, I got no sleep at all; two nights ago, I slept for 17 hours; last night, I had two hours' worth of dream-saturated doze. Dear sleep center of my brain: Get with the program. I had insomnia for five days straight in college; I don't really need a recap. (Is SAD rearing its ugly head already? Seems early, but this has been a shit year for sunshine, overall.)
-I wish I were biking, or hiking, or swimming- some good, physical activity to sweat all this caffeine residue out of my system, and work up an exhausted state that isn't loaded with jitters. Meh.
