"Our first available appointment is..."

Since it usually takes me at least a week to get over a cold (which this isn't yet; it's a sore throat with pretensions), I thought I'd give my PCP a call, and make a quick appointment for a checkup, for the purpose of obtaining cold-eradicating antibioti cs. Phone is dialed; appointment is made at first available date... nine days from now.

Other than that, I have Elliott Smith's XO in my bag, after much searching; may risk a general pandemic and/or pleurisy by seeing Matrix Revolutions ton ight, as I've always been a sucker for an SF adventure film whose cultural referents extend beyond its own prequels *coughT3cough*; have laid in OJ, chicken soup, and many books for the coming weekend. Would be happier if I had a few dozen rolls of photos to sort through, but I'm working on that.
