unabashed geekery
Sep. 15th, 2003 06:34 pm(If you're not a comic book geek, this isn't likely to mean much to you. Please excuse any heavy breathing on the part of the management.)
Awoke from a catatonic stupor yesterday, to find Zorikh sitting cross-legged in the empty room in our apartment, going through a huge pile of old comic books. Turns out a friend of his was moving, and didn't want to be bothered to carry said comics with him, so, given that it was Zorikh's 35th birthday anyway, voila. I craned my neck to see...
...X-Men 94, the first regular-sized issue of the new X-Men.
...X-Men 95, the one where Thunderbird dies.
...X-Men 100, wherein Jean Gray has the accident which leads to her becoming Phoenix.
...as well as a complete run of Howard the Duck, and other treasures too numerous to mention, many of them going back to the 12-cent days. Some of them still aren't in the greatest of condition, but that's still one damn princely 35th birthday gift. (Ebay, yes indeedy.)
You know, I'm turning 35 soon....
