And more good news...
Sep. 20th, 2001 07:16 pm...I now hear we're contemplating the use of tactical nukes in Afghanistan, should the Taliban fight the extradition of bin Laden.
...if President Musharraf is A) alive, B) in power, AND c) still in alliance with the U.S. by the end of the year, I'll be astonished.
...Pakistan (which is crammed to the gills with more extremists of the type that destroyed the World Trade Center) has nuclear capability.
...and on a more personal note, my job (where I am now), is three blocks from the UN.
...I do NOT believe they will ever "win"... but who will be left to keep score? I really, REALLY hope Bush shows an EXTREMELY active interest in supporting Musharraf...
...well, on a lighter note- at least I'm no longer thinking of one of my closest friends- who informed me other day that I had betrayed mutual friends of ours (how, I have no idea), and then blocked me... and who still will not answer calls or emails. Whee. If you're reading this, though- know that you are still my friend; that while I don't understand why you think I did this (nor does at least one of the people involved, by her own testimony), it doesn't matter... you are still in my heart, friend. God be with you- and with us all.
